Gas Plant Refurbishment
In the October Half Term of 2018, we completed the refurbishment of an existing gas plant room which had serviced its full lifespan.
The works were specified by a local consultant of which a tender was completed and we were successful. We provided a Program of work, along with full CDM Work Package Plans for the project along with full management of all subcontractors to ensure completion by the allotted date.
The scope of works included:
- Full strip out and removal and recycling of waste material as per our waste management plans and policies.
- Installation of three new High-Efficiency Gas Condensing boilers to provide heating and hot water to the 4 toilet blocks and 15+ Classrooms.
- The new High-Efficiency boilers utilised a new Stainless Steel Flue installed on the exterior of the building with integrated condenses.
- The installation of a new pressurisation unit and expansion vessel was installed.
- The installation and modifications included new prefabricated pipework and site installation along with new VT and CT circulation pumps, mixing valves and commissioning valves.
- The control installation included modifications to the existing Trend Control System including Power, Control and Monitoring of three new boiler shunt pumps and existing graphic pages updated.
- The control field wiring was completed by our in-house electricians and included utilising some of the existing wiring, along with new containment and cable being installed, numbered and terminated.
