The Deakin’s team is lacing up once again for the Chorley 10K, taking place in the beautiful surroundings of Astley Park.
This year’s run is especially meaningful to us. We are raising funds for two charities that are very close to our hearts:
Every penny raised will be donated directly and split equally between these two remarkable organisations.
Why We’re Running
At Deakin’s, we’re proud to support the communities we work in across Chorley and the wider North West. Taking part in the Chorley 10K is more than just a team challenge, it’s an opportunity to make a genuine difference to families who need support the most.
We would love your support on the day. If you’re nearby, come along to Astley Park and cheer the team on.
If you’re able to donate, you can do so here:
Donate via our official fundraising page:
https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/deakins-for-derian-house-and-alder-hey
All information about the fundraiser and the charities has been taken directly from this page, and 100% of funds raised will be donated and split between the two charities.
Supporting Derian House
Derian House provides respite and end-of-life care to more than 400 babies, children and young people across the North West.
Their work extends beyond clinical care. They support the entire family, including brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents, during unimaginably difficult times.
The hospice provides:
- Palliative and end-of-life care
- Respite stays
- Day care services
- Holiday support
- Transition support up to age 28
All care is provided free of charge to families.
However, it costs around £6 million each year to run their services, with less than 30% of required funding coming from the government. That means the majority of their vital work depends on fundraising and donations.
Supporting Alder Hey Children’s Charity
Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises vital funds to support Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Healthcare Campus, helping to create a truly world-class, patient-friendly environment.
Each year, around 450,000 children and young people receive care through the Trust, with NHS clinicians treating over 1,200 children every single day.
Since 2013, more than £82 million has been raised to fund:
- Life-saving medical equipment
- Advanced facilities
- Innovative technology
- Enhancements that improve the hospital experience for young patients
Recently, a £400,000 grant funded high-end precision telemedicine robots, enabling specialist expertise to be accessed remotely for complex clinical cases.
It’s this kind of innovation that ensures children receive the very best care possible.
How You Can Help
We’re asking for your support in three simple ways:

- Share – Help us spread the word on social media.

Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference.
Thank You for Your Support
As a local business, community matters to us. Whether we’re delivering projects across Chorley and the North West or taking part in local events like the Chorley 10K, we’re always proud to give something back.
Thank you for helping us support two incredible children’s charities. Let’s make this year’s Chorley 10K our biggest fundraising effort yet.
